Colonsay & Oronsay

Colonsay is located in the Inner Hebrides to the north of Islay and west of Jura; it is reached by ferry from Oban or Kennacraig in Kintyre, via Port Askaig on Islay. Oronsay lies to the south of Colonsay and is linked to the larger island at low tide.

Caisteal nan Gillean on Colonsay is a shell mound that was built up from 5100-4300BC.

To the southwest of the island is Oronsay, a tidal island which is attached to Colonsay at low tide.
