Forres

Forres is a town in Moray located just west of the River Findhorn, roughly halfway between Nairn and Elgin.

The Witches Stone, near the police station, marks the spot where burning barrels, with witches inside, stopped after they were rolled down Cluny Hill. On the hill itself is a memorial to Lord Nelson.

The Benromach distillery stands to the north of the town, while the Dallas Dhu distillery can be found to the south. The latter distillery no longer produces whisky, but is still complete and is run by Historic Scotland as a visitor attraction.

The 23ft high carved Sueno's Stone, which dates from around the 9th century, stands near the main road to the east of the town.
