Nairn

Nairn is located 26km/16 miles east of Inverness on the southern side of the Moray Firth, at the mouth of the River Nairn.

At nearby Auldearn, stands the Boath Doocot, which dates from the 17th century. It is built on Castle Hill, the site of the old castle itself, and is where Montrose raised his standard prior to the Battle of Auldearn in 1645.
