Loch Morar
The River Morar, which flows from the dam at the western end of the loch, is only a quarter of a mile long making it the shortest river in Britain. The water used to fall thirty feet between the loch and river until the hydro-electric dam was built. Loch Morar also has it's own monster, Morag - also referred to as the Great Worm. Sightings of Morag are believed to herald the death of a member of the local MacDonald clan! The islands on the loch are:

Morar is the deepest loch in Scotland at over 300m/1000ft - a
depth that is not reached for over one hundred and thirty miles west in the
Atlantic, where the floor of the ocean pitches down at the continental shelf.
