Dryburgh Abbey

Dryburgh Abbey stands to the south of Dryburgh, situated within a loop of the River Tweed, in the Scottish Borders.

The abbey was founded c.1152 for the monks of Alnwick in Northumbria. The ruins date mainly from the 12^th and 13^th centuries.

The abbey is the burial place of Sir Walter Scott and Earl Haig.
