I don't believe there is any significance in these names, they were just maybe popular at the time! Marjorie is derived from Margaret and might have been used for girls of noble birth for the connection to the two Queen Margarets (the wife of Malcolm Canmore and the granddaughter of Alexander III).
Of course, without extensive records showing the names of the less noble people we'll never know how widespread either of these names actually were.
