Tory Island, Co.Donegal. 9 miles from the mainland. Not many people go here and no one i know has been including myself. I think it more the very rough seas that frighten most people for most of the year but i think its time i paid a visit. Has a steady population of around 300.

Your pictures of Donegal are beautiful

We took our van to Ireland two years ago and spent about 18 days travelling around. We went from Larne to Dublin, then to Kerry for a few days, up to Galway and finished off with a couple of nights at Bushmills. It took us much longer to travel between places than we anticipated and there seemed to be a distinct lack of laybys.

I was a bit disappointed with Kerry as I had always wanted to go there but it was too busy and over commercialised for me especially around the Dingle area, although as expected it was very beautiful.

We would have liked to have spent some time in County Clare but apart from an overnight stop we didnt have enough time so we will have to go back there sometime

I was surprised (and very pleased) by the North Antrim coast - it was so beautiful and definitely a place I want to go back to

Giants Causeway

Some nice shots Heb. Went to Kerry for the first time in my life earlier this year. Is a beautiful place if somewhat over commercialised. Saw that windmill also in North Kerry. But I must agree with you on the Antrim coast. Most tourists head staright for the Giant's Causeway ( Which isn't that much to look at if you ask me) and never see any more off the north coast. The coast road from Larne to Ballycastle is superb and when you get to Ballycastle going to Rathlin Island is a must. Ireland is like Scotland. Your never gonna get the best of it in one go. I think you gotta plan for several trips over the years and see it bit by bit.

I have to say that I did enjoy the Giants Causeway and would like to spend more time there, we caught the little steam train from Bushmills to the Giants Causeway and although we must have spent about 1.5 hours there I didn't feel it was long enough but we had to get back to Bushmills before the last tour of the distillery which was well worth it.

However I do think that there is much more to the area than that particular attraction and as you say the coastal road between Larne and Ballycastle is pretty spectacular and I've always wanted to go to Rathlin Island - so definitely loads to go back for.

I saw some pictures of Dunluce castle a while back, and they were lovely. One day I'll need to visit Northern Ireland. Hopefully it isn't quite as crowded as Eire. But then, the only time I was there for more than a few days, I was there on a tour, and that is never to my liking. Too much like cattle being herded around.
