Its time now to vote for January's Photo of the Month... and the good news is we all get 2 votes each*; good luck to all the entrants!

* Remember to use both votes at the same time or you will lose one!

The first day of voting has gone well with seven of the photos each having at least one vote (including my own that has one vote more than my Photo of the Year entry managed not that I am bitter you understand, but come on was one vote too much to ask? :evil:

ok I'll calm down now and get back to this month...)

So far no photo has taken a clear lead and with recent months (not forgetting the ongoing PotY tie-break) we're used to this situation; with nine days to go it will be interesting to see how the voting goes! :wink:

With a week to go we do have a clear leader... but not that clear that he's running away with the competition! All your votes count; just remember to use them both at the same time or lose one! :wink:

Now that the Photo of the Year has been decided we can now concentrate on this month's competition... and while there is still one photo ahead of all the rest its still too close to call!

Just over 26½ hours to go and its beginning to look like we might have our first clear winner in a long time... I hope I've not just jinxed it for you Ken! :whistling:

Congratulation Ken... as soon as I saw your photo I had a feeling it was going to be a contender for this month's PotM!

Thanks guys, it was a picture that at the time I thought had killed the sensor on the camera that took it, and which I'd never really rated until BBC Online News used it and I saw it in a new context...

What a great picture Ken. Immediately I saw it there was no doubt in my mind that it was the winner. It got my vote straight away.
