The bay is pretty isolated. reached either by sea or a very winding path through the forest. whichever way you arrive it is worth it.
Of Maxwells house, there is no trace, only the 2 memorials. One to Edal the Otter

If you follow the stream up you come to a couple of waterfalls in the gorge that the Otters in the books liked to play. The gorge is pretty narrow & steep so take care if you do venture up there.

We camped in the bay for a couple of days and each day saw other people treking in from the road or arriving by boat.
2 boats in the bay with Skye (Sleat) in the middle distance and the cliffs of Rum in the background

But by late afternoon all had left leaving us to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. There are still otters in the bay though we never saw them the was traces over on the islands.
at the end of our stay we canoed along the coast to Glenelg in glorious conditions but I will save those pics for another post.
