Don't really want to know where this dreadful place is
(only to avoid it) but just for the sport of it I'll try a guess:
somewhere around a nuclear plant ?

Nowhere near a nuclear plant!

To be honest Criva it is somewhere I would normally avoid. However, as will become clear later this particular site has drawn our attention!

Did you discover a rare animal or flower there ?
Or did your eye catch an original "manmade feature" ?

Our attention was directed to this by a family member and for certain reasons it has really annoyed us! I was going to say its pissed us off, but as there may be youngsters read this I won't. So you'll have to settle for annoyed!

As for what is in the area of the pylons, where do I start without giving too much away? Well, there's a caste, a broch, a Roman Road (or route of), a fort and a wood that figured in the run up to a major battle!

ok, I think it is fair to say that I am VERY pissed off about these pylons... as is Linda, but she's a lady so I think she will be rather annoyed! Truth be told, Linda has more reason to be pissed off about these than me... but the reason for that will be revealed soon too

Could it be south of Plean, A 81 (NS 8385), Torwood, Falkirk
(a broch, a castle, a forest, a country park, a roman road... available) ?

I told you too much didn't I Criva? Its the electricity substation marked on the map at ref. NS822848... and it is also visible from Linda's front garden - although not so long ago it wasn't as it wasn't there!

What a turn-off  , since the pylons will be there for a long time :( , no near future plans of moving, Linda ??
I suppose like everywhere else the people/public didn't get to participate in the planning of this pylons. :?

The photo that started off this topic as a Guess the Location was never intended for that purpose! As is obvious, there are certain bad feelings towards these pylons, as there is to the whole issue of the proposed pylons to be erected all the way from Beauly to Denny (of which these form part!) So, in keeping with the topic title, the pylons march on:

This one, that stands roughly west of the sub station shown at the start of the topic, spoils what would have been quite a nice view looking back towards the Kilsyth Hills!

So many of these monstrosities have appeared recently... suddenly even... and I honestly do wonder why another means of transporting the electricity from source to consumer can't be found - what in all honesty is to stop them from burying the cables? Why have all these iron giants strolling across the hills? I appreciate having electricity (as I am sure most of us do... although my oldest son told me if we didn't then he'd just play his acoustic guitar - I wish he told me that before I bought him the electric one, but that's another matter!)

I appreciate seeing Scotland more than I do having the electricity though. Its a shame the views are being spoiled more than some of them already are! Maybe its time to protest louder? Captions for the following please:
