A tale of one mans journey (on foot) from Plymouth (most southern city in England) to Edinburgh (most southern city in Scotland) ... with no money in his pockets and no forward planning for food or a place to sleep at night.
He has the company of Sam (a King Charles Spaniel) but Sam doesn't complete the journey.
Fantastic read and shows up peoples differing reactions to helping those in need at any given time (The author was not assisted by a back up team at anytime and was genuinely relying on help from the public at all times).
Fantastic book ... I have read this over and over again. Wont spoil it for anyone that may be interested but, in a strange sense, it must have been brilliant to have the sense of complete freedom throughout the walk (apart form the worries of finding food, water and a place to sleep each night).
