Hi everyone!!!

I followed wiseguy here  His 'other half' of the Welcome Inn admin team. And no, he doesn't have me on a leash

Quick bit about me, I'm a single mom from Canada, apprenticing in the fine art of Kilt making ..... the traditional way, with 8+ meters of tartan and all hand stitched 8) I love every one of the more than 5000 stitches I put in a kilt. Any questions, just give a holler

Hi Saffy and welcome to the forum! :D

I have to say that I was a bit confused by your topic title... but it turns out you're a kilt maker from Canada, not a maker of Canadian kilts! At least that clears up that (for me at least) and now I don't have to ask what a Canadian kilt is! :whistling:

LOL Sorry to confuse you. I work at the largest college dedicated to the Scottish culture this side of the Atlantic. There is a large population base of Scottish descendants here, but we get clients from all over the world. We have sent kilts to pretty much every industrialized country except Russia  and also have sewn kilts for a Disney movie (anyone care to guess which one? 8) ) I'm still an apprentice, will be another 3 years at least before I can call myself a true kilt maker.

Possibly Greyfriar's Bobby tho I'm not sure why I think it would be this one as kilts weren't worn that much in 19th century Edinburgh despite Disney seeming to think so in 1961, but then they decided to make John Gray a shepher instead of a policeman! Anyway, Kidnapped (1960) and Rob Roy: the Highland Rogue (1953) were Disney productions so it could have been one of them! Do we get a point if we get the right answer?

You are wrong on all accounts so far  I'll give you a hint, it was released in 2001. And you are right, I didn't have anything to do with the making of that kilt, but it came from our sewing room

And Linda, I know how it is with some men, we have to spell everything out for them
