Loch Earn

At the western end of Strathearn, overlooked by Ben Vorlich and Stud a Chroin, is Loch Earn. Lochearnhead is situated at the western end of the loch and St. Fillans village at the eastern end - the River Earn starts its journey east from here.

The loch itself is 87 m deep, about 10 km in length and 0.8 km at its widest. It is popular for water sports such as power boating, water skiing and jet skis. Its also one of the few stretches of inland waterway in the UK where you might see a float-plane landing.
