Dirleton is located about 4km/2 miles to the west of North Berwick.
The castle was built by the De Vaux family in the thirteenth century.
The gardens around the castle include a restored Victorian garden and also an
Arts and Crafts garden.
The castle and gardens are looked after by Historic
Scotland.
