Almondell & Calderwood Country Park
Almondell & Calderwood Country Park is situated in
West Lothian
between Broxburn and East Calder. This park incorporates two former private
estates:
- Almondell - a 97 acre estate lying in the valley of the River Almond, this was once the
private estate of the Erskine family. The Visitor Centre was previously the stable block of this
estate.
- Calderwood - this 130 acre estate was also once private, belonging to the Barons
of Torphichen. This park lies between the Murieston and Linn Waters, which flow
into the Calder Water. It has been deliberately left undeveloped.
