Tobermory, the main settlement on Mull, was a planned village built in 1788 by the British Fisheries Society.
The Tobermory Distillery, which is also known as Ledaig, was established in the late 18th century.
More recently Tobermory has become famous as the setting for the children's television programme Balamory.
