Islay

Bridgend to Portnahaven
Approximate distance: 14.9 miles

From Bridgend, to the northeast of Bowmore, the A847 heads west around the northern end of Loch Indaal to the Rinns of Islay.

The road then heads southwest, staying close to the side of the loch, passing Bruichladdich with its distillery; one of the seven on Islay.

The road then passes through Port Charlotte with the lighthouse that is soon visible to the east.

The A847 ends at Portnahaven, near Port Wemyss, on Rinns Point.
