Isle of May

The Isle of May lies a few miles off the Fife coast, southeast of Anstruther; it is the largest of the islands in the Firth of Forth.

The lighthouse on the island was built in 1816 by Robert Louis Stevenson's grandfather; there are also the remains of the Scotland's first lighthouse, built in 1636. The island is now a nature reserve and bird sanctuary.
