Pittenweem
As well as having a busy harbour and fish market, there are
a number of art galleries in the village and an annual Arts Festival is held in
early August.
Kellie Castle, three miles to the north, is a mixture of
16th century twin towers connected by a 17th century building. It
was abandoned in the early 19th century and discovered by Professor James Lorimer in 1878.
Andrew Wilson robbed a customs officer and was hung in
Edinburgh's Grassmarket, which resulted in the Porteous Riot of 1736.
