Newport-on-Tay

Newport-on-Tay lies on the Firth of Tay in northern Fife, between the Tay road and rail bridges.

Prior to the Tay Road Bridge opening in 1966, this was the ferry port from Fife to Dundee. A new pier was built in 1715 funded by the Guilds of Dundee. In 1823 a new harbour was built, which was designed by Thomas Telford.

Many of the buildings date from Victorian times.
