Leven

Leven lies on the Firth of Forth at the mouth of the River Leven on the western side of Largo Bay.

The port was closed here in 1602 to stop the smuggling that was taking place.

The Mercat Cross that is located in the grounds of Carberry House, the offices for Fife Council, is a reconstruction of the original and probably dates from the seventeenth century.

Letham Glen, to the north of the town, was once known as Spinkie Den.
