East Neuk

The East Neuk is the name associated with the eastern corner, or neuk, of Fife.

Heading east from Leven on the A915, round Largo Bay, leads to Lower then Upper Largo. The A917 then heads southeast to Elie then northeast though St. Monans, Pittenweem and Anstruther to Crail before heading roughly northwest to St. Andrews.

Inland from this series of fishing villages the hills provide some of the best farm land in Scotland. There are many golf courses in the area and a number of coastal walks, which form part of the Fife Coastal Path.

Alternatively, the A915 heads northeast from Upper Largo to St. Andrews, which bypasses the above villages and cuts the distance travelled roughly in half.
