Dunfermline
Monastic Buildings
 The
domestic buildings were arranged around the cloister, to the south of the Abbey, with covered walks around it's perimeter. Nothing
remains now of the ranges to the east and west other than the ends that joined
the Refectory (left) to the south of the complex.
Access
from the outer courtyard to the inner parts of the complex was controlled by a
gatehouse (shown right with the outer refectory wall to the right of the
picture).
