Bridge of Allan

Bridge of Allan is a small town that developed by a bridging point on the Allan Water near the western end of the Ochil Hills. It is located to the north of Stirling, of which it is now virtually a suburb.

The earliest bridge at this point dates from 1520 with the remains of a later bridge still being visible. The town itself developed in the 19th century as a spa resort.
