Southern Kintyre
To the west of Campbeltown is a triangular area of low-lying land, known as the Laggan. This is bounded by Campbeltown in the east along with Machrihanish and Westport in the west. Following the last ice-age, this area would have been under water making the southern part of the Kintyre peninsula an island. |
